Eyes Like His...
Proverbs 23:7 says, “So as a man thinketh in his heart so is he…”
This past year, I turned sixty. At first it didn’t really hit me because I didn’t feel like I was sixty. What this Proverb tells me is how I think about myself will determine my actions. If I feel confident and happy, then I will act confident and happy but if I am struggling with low self-esteem, or I am not happy with myself then my actions will follow.
If we could all see ourselves the way our Heavenly Father sees us, then we would walk differently, act differently, speak differently and live our lives differently. Want to know how God sees you? Here are some scriptures that tell you: you are righteous. (Isaiah 54:17); you are chosen. (Isaiah 41:3); you are dearly loved (Colossians 3:12); you are holy (Colossians 3:12); you are free from condemnation. (Romans 8:1); you have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16); and, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). These are the truths that we need to believe.
Dr. Seuss, once wrote in one of his books, “Oh the thinks you could think, if you only try!”
We limit ourselves because of how we view ourselves. A truly self-confident person reaches for the stars. Set-backs won’t stop her. People’s opinions won’t faze her. Obstacles may slow her down, but definitely will not deter her! Having an overcomer attitude is imperative to having a happy successful life.
We need to have eyes like His, to view ourselves the way He views us…someone with value and purpose that is dearly loved. Then, this will inspire us to do more than we could ever imagine no matter how old we are.
Here at the Beautiful Basics, we are cheering you on! We love you!
